Clifton Beach
Cape Town, South Africa

The scenic road hugs the mountain's rocky feet and gently meanders along the coast towards Clifton Beach, with its four sandy inlets.

This is a very popular suburb, and visitors should plan an early start in order to find not only parking, but also a sunbathing spot on one of these world-famous sandy beaches. Be prepared to use any one of the many, steep stairways!

Beaches are known for topless bathers and boast the regular presence of film stars and other well-known public figures.

Because of the steep incline and the rocky nature of property in the area, houses and apartments reach narrowly upwards, resulting in phenomenal price tags but truly spectacular views.

The coastal road may be narrow, and sometimes difficult to navigate during peak periods, but this is one of the "must-see" places. White sandy beaches and magnificent views of the "Twelve Apostles" towering over the bay eventually lead to Camps Bay, another spectacular beach resort.
