Along the beach itself, the popular promenade invites many visitors to walk, relax and enjoy the views throughout the year. Grassed areas, play areas and benches cater for all types of weather, even the howling winds during the winter, when huge waves splash against the retaining structures, and fling mounds of dirty foam onto the walkways.
Along the Beach Road, a low brick building houses the Sea Fisheries Research Aquarium. Interesting studies on the effects of simulated oceanic conditions on marine resources are carried out here, the only facility of its kind in the country.
Whether the visitor uses the narrow "Main Road" through the busy shopping areas, or the "Beach Road" which meanders along the every-changing coastline, easy parking makes it enticing to stop and enjoy Sea Point.
