You start off with a visit to the Afrikaans language monument situated high on the slopes of Paarl Mountain to get an overview of the day's itinerary. After a city tour of Paarl you join the team at the Nelson's Creek wine estate for a cellar tour and tasting.
This estate made history by being the first to assist its workers to produce their own wines, bottled under the New Beginnings label. You then make your way to Franschhoek for an optional lunch stop. The afternoon includes a visit to the Boschendal Manor house*, a fine example of Cape Dutch architecture, followed by a tasting of their wines. This is followed by a comprehensive tour of Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa. On Saturdays and Sundays alternative estates may be used.
